几内亚与印尼成立经贸混委会

据印尼媒体报道，8月3日，正在印度尼西亚首都雅加达出席第12届伊斯兰世界经济论坛的几内亚总统孔戴与印尼总统维多多举行了双边会谈。

会谈结束后，印尼外长向媒体发表谈话。他表示，几印两国元首同意成立经贸混委会，首届混委会会议定于2017年在几内亚召开。

Indonesian, Guinea presidents discuss trade ties

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his counterpart from Guinea Alpha Conde discussed efforts to boost bilateral trade ties.

The head of state supports an increase in trade between Indonesia and Guinea, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi stated after accompanying Jokowi to a bilateral meeting with President Conde, here, Wednesday.

Jokowi expressed gratitude to Conde for his participation in the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) being held at the Jakarta Convention Center on August 2-4, 2016.

During his trip to Indonesia, Conde is also scheduled to visit several strategic industries and companies.

Conde invited Indonesian investors to invest in Guinea, particularly in the fields of agriculture and mining.

The African country has some six million hectares of agricultural land. In fact, Guinea is the paddy barn of West Africa, so it is keen to establish technical cooperation with Indonesia to build the nations capacity.

"Guinea has abundant deposits of minerals and ores, such as bauxite. Therefore, President Conde offers investment in the two fields," Minister Marsudi remarked.

Guinea is also interested in establishing cooperation in the aviation sector with Indonesia.

The two leaders have agreed that both nations should form a joint commission that will hold regular meetings to intensify efforts to boost bilateral cooperation.

The first forum of the joint commission is scheduled to be held in Guinea next year, according to Marsudi.

In the meeting with President Conde, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister Retno Marsudi, Head of the National Development Planning Agency Bambang Brodjonegoro, and Minister/State Secretary Pratikno.

The 12th WIEF is themed "Decentralizing Growth, Empowering Future Business."

The Islamic Economic Forum offers an opportunity to all participants from over 100 countries to derive benefits from the business prospects in various fields.(*)
